Josephine Sculpture Park (JSP) was founded in 2009 on Melanie VanHouten’s (Executive Director) family farm, named in honor of her grandmother, Josephine. It is the only park of its kind in the state of Kentucky. JSP features over 80 ever-changing sculptures among mowed paths and wildlife habitat across 40 acres. The mission is to connect people to each other and the land through the arts. The Park provides creative arts and nature education to the community and transformative opportunities to artists while conserving the beauty of Kentucky’s native, rural landscape. The vision is to be a leader in our community that respects and reflects diverse voices and ideas through shared, creative experiences and responsible land stewardship practices. The staff, board, and volunteers of the Park are committed to advancing social justice and cultural equity. JSP is a space where everyone should feel safe and welcome, and a place to play, create, and heal together. JSP is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
The Development Coordinator is responsible for JSP’s ongoing effort to identify, cultivate, acquire, and steward donors for the organization on a continuing basis. This position is primarily committed to the solicitation of monies from individuals, private institutions and foundations and governmental sources. This position also includes organization and oversight of fundraising and membership events. The Development Coordinator reports to the Executive Director. Opportunity to grow this position may be available in the future.
