Céline Browning reflects on JSP residency

In this series of video interviews, Céline Browning shares the process of creating her sculpture as JSP's Artist in Residence.

Week One

Céline introduces herself, why she became an artist, and her project at Josephine Sculpture Park. She shares: "I'm...excited to embark on this project specifically because it's actually...based on a project that my mother, who died five years ago, designed. It was her last piece that she never got to realize...It's exciting to take her ideas and then add my own spin on it..."

Week Two

Céline Browning is creating a sculptural bird blind made of plasma cut steel panels! She explains, "each panel is going to be depicting a native bird and a native plant species." The panels she shares show morning doves with Jack-in-the-pulpit, indigo buntings with columbine, and American kestrels with mayapple.

Final Week

Céline reflects on the making of her sculpture as the Josephine Sculpture Park Artist in Residence. "This residency is so important. It's amazing that in KY we have this incredible resource, in Josephine Sculpture Park." She shares, "You don't need to go elsewhere to make wonderful work and to see wonderful work and just to be in a natural environment that incorporates both art and nature...I'm just very very glad that I had the opportunity to lend my work and my creative voice to such an important, long term project."
